I've celebrated Jian Zhuang's birthday with a group of friends at Georgetown Coffee Shop at Alor Setar Mall. It was a really nice day for all of us.
Actually i thought that I only will celebrated it with Chin Hui, that girl who I mentioned it the few post ago. We planned that we only will buy him a present, then go to Georgetown too for a coffee and chatting about our own life in different places.
But after that a friend who get know that we were going to ask Jian Zhuang out for coffee, so he also decided to ask the other friends who were in Alor Setar too that time. He is Tzi Chi, one of my friends who same kampung with me in UUM and I think that he is the most handsome friend in my life. hahahahaha!!
I and my friends said that, he might be the next Malaysian's Top Model. Hahahaha!! Looks handsome right? Wakaka!~~ Ok, I think that I should feel proud to have such handsome friend.
The people who attended his birthday party were chin Hui, Tzi Chi, and my myself. Besides that, Jian Zhuang;s ex girl friend, Liza also invited. Next on are Liza's best friend, Yi Yin who currently studying in UPM, Chinese Studies, Joseph? Erm, I'm not really remember his name who helped me in capturing many nice photos and lastly is Jia Jie, we called him "Cake Face", he is cute.
Those are the guys who attended the birthday party. Some of them I know their names, but actually "m not really knew them. The blue cloth one is Ching Sheng, he seems like very hungry. "Cake Face" is the one who was sitting at front wearing white shirt. Josepf is the one who wearing white shirt with black strip. Really thank to him and his good capture photo skill.
And the photo below is showing the girls who attend his birthday party.
Girls from the left, Liza, Yi Yin , Me and Chin Hui.
Can see that, all og the girls attended are pretty pretty belaka, isn't it?
Hope that Jian Zhuang really like the birthday party which we've done for him, and hope that he will always in Happy mood and enjoy his life. Happy 21st Birthday to him, My Great Friend, Jian Zhuang.
Trip To Hat Yai With My Lovely Family Members
Have I tell you guys about the nice trip to Hat Yai before Malays' Raya Festive Season? Not yet right? Ok, I'm going to tell about it now...
I've travelled to Hat Yai, Thailand with my family on 19th og September. My father drove there and total of 4 people in a car.
After sitting in the car for nearly 2 and a half hours, we also reached Hat Yai town. Try to guess and see what is the first place we visited? hahaha... The first place we visited was not shopping mall but Diamond Hotel. Go hotel wasn't look for room but to have our lunch. =)
We've order few cuisines, including King Som, Kerabu Mango, and Fried Vege.
The cuisine I like the most is this one, King Som. It is superb hot and spicy. After I and my family ate this, we all looked like after cried but actually the fact is it was too spicy until we all looked like crying. It is a MUST ORDER food every time we go to Hat Yai.
After lunch, then only we decided to go shopping as doing exercise after we ate. We've bought a lot of things. We bought if for family daily use and we were not thinking to buy those unnecessary stuffs. By buying those stuffs, we already spent a lot of money. For my personal stuff, I already spent RM 100.
Before we left Hat Yai, I also decided to have a cup of my favourite coffee. =) and it is Caramel Chester's Coffee. I must have it every time I go to Hat Yai. The deco of the shop there is nice but the most important one is the taste of the coffee.
Hope that I can go again next time. =) For Coffee.
Outing with my family... Due to some reasons, my sister decided to go Butterworth to visit my another sister and her family. Miss them so much, especially my niece. As the saying goes, we never know appreciate before we're losing them. It do always happen in our daily life. I really love my family and may god bless them.
Today, we went to Auto-City to have our lunch. Actually my sister's husband not really want to bring us eat in restaurant because those restaurant's food are expensive. Maybe my sister thinking that we drove from Alor Setar for them, she should treat us eat something good, so she suggested few restaurants and wanted her husband to bring us there. Lastly, we took lunch in Manhatton Fish Market Restaurant. It's not a fish market k!!
It's my first time eat in this restaurant. The cuisines of the restaurant mainly about FISH~I don't like to eat fish actually, due to my father was a fishmonger while i was young and he tended to bring a lot of fish back home. Then my mom will cook those fishes for me to eat. They always force me to eat fish... I really don't like the smell of it...
But the fish which we ordered, hehe... very nice to eat and I like it very much! Besides fish, I like to coffee there too. The coffee i ordered is Manhatton Mocha. I always used to drink Cuppucino, but this time i chose to drink the restaurant's special. While my father ordered Cuppucino. hehe~ I'm not regret ordering it. Firstly, the outlook of the coffee is very very attracting and looks nice. Secondly, the smell of the coffee is nice too. Lastly, it really very nice to drink. I like roasted coffee bean and Brewed coffee.
After that, we went to eat Haagen-Dazs ice cream too! The ice cream is very expensive since it is branded ice cream, if want me to bill for it, I don't think that I can afford it..Luckily I'm not the person who have to treat meal.
The ice cream looks very nice right? hope my friends will like it and one day i have the chance to eat it with my friends.
What do you love about our country? Did you ever think about this? Due to the Merdeka Day is coming soon. I saw this topic in the newspaper and started to write about this topic.
There are few things which I like about my country-Malaysia.
Firstly, I like the food in Malaysia, especially Laksa!~ You cannot understand how much I like it. Every time I come back from UUM, I must visit my favourite mamak stall which is selling my favourite food, Laksa. The taste of Laksa selling there is more sour and spicy if compared with other stalls. I like the taste of the Laksa there, that's why I always consume my favourite food at the same place.
Ok, secondly, I like shopping. Haha~ Mean that I like the shopping in Malaysia too. Malaysia has Shopping Mega Sales twice a year and now is the season of Mega Sales Carnival too. This will held until the Merdeka Day - 31st August 2009. Unfortunately, because of too busy in doing my assignments, I don't have chance to visit and join the Mega Sales Shopping Team. It's really too bad. OK!! While the coming Mega Sales Carnival, I must go to shop and purchase new clothes and please! Don't Stop Me K!
The Pavillion, the best place for my favourite coffee...
The next favourite thing I love about my country is the popular travelling spots in Malaysia. I like photography and also travelling to the beautiful places. The place I like the most in Malaysia is Putrajaya. It is a very nice place and also a good spot for photography lovers. But I still can't realize my dream yet, that is go there for taking photos because of I haven't buy any professional camera yet. I don't have enough money for travelling too. I'm just a student who only can depend on her PTPTN for daily life.
Another thing I love is the way different races mix in together. It's hard to see such scene in other countries. Our country have 3 different main races and we have to figure out the ways to integrate each others. Our leader of the country also played an important role to support the other races so that we are treated fairly and we won't break the relationship between others. So our PM created this slogan, "1 Malaysia" for moralize all the races in our country. though Malaysian citizens have different origins and histories their common citizenship binds them together as a single people. It's a good thing no matter this slogan will work or not. Haha~~!
Lastly, the thing I love the most in my country is, my band. Although I didn't mention my family, but I still love my family very much k! But I've chose to put my band here, and my my family will be in my heart. It's not an excuse k!! Hahahaha!! I joint band for years, although I've already graduated from it since few years ago, but I still like it very much. So if have the chance to go back, I might grab the chance and go back for them, if they need me. Sometimes feeling like it sounds stupid because I might neglect my studies if I concentrate in something else. But it is one of my dreams which I wish to realize too.
Ok, here are 5 favourite things of my country. Hope that you guys can comment on my post or maybe telling me your favourite things about your country too. Happy Merdeka Day! Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!!
Yesterday was going out with Lim Chin Hui. She just came back from KL and we decided to go out together before I go back to UUM. She told me that she've bought a new camera-Lumix LX3. WOW~ This is the first reaction after I was knowing about Chin Hui was buying a new camera. Another reason for my WOW is, she bought such a good and expensive camera.
Lumix LX3 is not a simple camera as the other Digital Cameras. But this camera can consider as Semi Pro camera and it is more advance than the normal Digital Cameras. This camera still can add extra lenses and Flash light if not mistaken and other Digital Cameras can't do that. Of course the price is more expensive too~
Miss Chin Hui is a very normal girl to me. Normal but special k! Everyone is unique. She has very good personality. =) There are a lot reasons why I'm saying that. Firstly, she was my very good friend since I was standard 3. We like different things, means our taste is different. But the things we are thinking is almost alike. Example, she don't like fruits, but I like. While I'm thinking to go travel, at the same time, she will have the same idea as mine. Depends actually on the things.
I joint her for years, but honestly I'm not that understand her habits. I think, she understand me more than I understand her. She is a caring friend. That is why I'm saying she is good. She will mind about her friends and listen to their problems. Sometimes she might giving very good advise to her friends too.
She is a very understanding girl. She know that her family situation and she will starts to save her money and not to buy useless things. So there must be a reason on everything she's bought. Buying this camera is because she wants to keep all of her memories with her family and friends by capturing the photos.
We went to a nice and historical place in Alor Setar-Balai Seni Negeri. I'm wondering why the Balai Seni is closed? It shouldn't be open for people to visit everyday? Or because of no people want to visit such place, so they are closing it for God's sake. Nevermind, as long as we still can take photo outside of the building.
I thought that we'll do something very nonsense at here. Like we don't know how to start what we should do at there and lastly end up our outing by chatting on the staircase. > <" Ok, luckily we know what the actual purpose why we are going there.
You see, how serious she was while taking the scenary of Alor Setar. Beside her is the white colour building, Balai Seni Negeri.
This one is me, playing and trying her camera. The feeling is great while I was holding it. The return to the acients outlook of the camera is super duper nice~~~But I won't change my mind to purchase her camera because what I aimed is Digital SLR, but not a Semi Pro one.
I took tis coconut tree with the sky. I don't like this photo because i know that while i was taking this photo, I don't have the mood and I'm lazy to seek for the best angle.
After the outing with Chin hui this time, I found that I should rest more before going out for a photography session. Because I look so tired and ugly in the photo. I slept 4 hours only on the previous night. Don't have the good mood because of I don't have enough rest. It's really too bad.
Hopefully next time I still have the chance to go out with Chin Hui for learning more about photography. And that time I'll bring along my DSLR. Hope the friendship between me and Chin Hui will last forever. =)
I never introduce to you guys right? About my roommates.
Last night, they're visiting to Alor Setar because of want to buy some food for their daily life in UUM. They eat biscuits a lot.. So while they don't have extra time to go back to their hometown, they will come Alor Setar to buy some food. After that they will stay at my house for one night. I'll back to UUM together with them on the next day.
Through the photo above, the one who is wearing black shirt is Choong Yi Qin, and the another one is Tay Sok Ling. They are my roommates in UUM. I still have another roommate who is from Penang, but she didn't join them. So you can't see her in the photo.
Actually, Sok Ling is a very nice girl. She is very friendly, care about her friends and family person. I've met a lot of selfish people. But she isn't like that. Before making any decision, she will consider about the effects to the other people and also the results. She won't do anything which might hurt the others.
It's bad if I'm telling her bad things here. Hehe.. Sometimes while she is facing too much of problems such as communication problems between friends and also between roommates, she'll cry in front of us. HAHA!!! (I shouldn't laugh, I know.) Ok... It shows that, she is a good girl. She've chosen to keep those not happy things for herself, she also don't want it affect others' life.
She is Yi Qin. She is the most rich in my room. I know it's weird by introducing her this way. But this is the fact. You can't imagine my look while i heard she said, her family owns 2 BMW 5th Series and 1 BMW 3 Series. Those aren't as simple as BMX bicycle you know? Those are BMW!! "Wow... She is my roommate...", myy brain is saying..
But actually, it is not important whether she is rich or not because she won't share her money with us. (This is true.) Ok, if I'm rich, I also won't simply share my money with other people. So no matter she is rich or not, she still my roommate. Forget about those BMW.
Besides that, she is the most busy person in my room because of she's joining activities. While she has free time, she also very busy. Why I'm saying that way? Because, she'll spend her free time to talk with her boyfriend on the phone. She can talk a lot with her boyfriend. Sometimes can talk more than 2 hours and it is amazing me. "Oh My God. How can she talk this way? Will she feel tired while talk on the phone using handsfree?" This question always occurs in my brain.
3 girls shopping also can buy so many things. Those things cost us RM 100++. But the fact is, most of the things were bought by Choong Yi Qin. I can buy those things every week while I'm going back to Alor Setar. Sok Ling only used to buy something which she thinks is cheap. If something is doing discount and the price is really cheap, then she'll buy a lot. not only for herself, but for her family in Bukit Mertajam too. She'll bring back to them during weekend while she is going back to her hometown.
Lastly, we ended our shopping at this Watches stall. Yi Qin was thinking to buy a new watch and that stall is the last place we visited, but we also spent around half an hour there since Yi Qin can't make up her decision whether which watch she perfers more..
If there is a chance, hopefully I can introduce you guys my another roommate too. Her name is Cheow Hwa. No matter what happen, I won't forget them as my roommates who accompany during my life in the campus. I will appreciate the time together with them and want to thank them, being my Roommates.
Last week on 18th July 2009, I've went to Penang with all of my coursemates to join the Penang Bon Odori Festival. It was our first time going out together and it's really a nice trip.
We departed at 8am from University Utara Malaysia. While we reach Penang, the first place where we visited is Queensbay Mall. It's a shopping mall which is located near the Bayan Lepas in Penang. (haha... or I should described it as another side of Penang? I really not good in telling the location of a place.) Although I come from Alor Setar and always visit Penang, but Queensbay Mall isn't a place where I really like to visit with. So, that was my 2nd time visit to Queensbay Mall.
Maybe people might wonder why I dislike visit Queensbay Mall... Firstly, that is a place which is far from the town areas. The town areas where I mean by are Komtar or Gurney Drive. Those are the places where I used to visit. To me, 2 of this shopping malls are very nice to shopping. (hahaha!! I like shopping~~) Ok, it's normal to see girls who like shopping. If there are girls who dislike shopping, I think they might look weird...!! Since if they didn;t go for shopping because of they dislike it, they might not able to "refresh" themselves with some other better and nicer clothes. Although appearance isn't that important sometimes, but in such realistic world, they are still many people who used to judge people with their appearance. Remind that, maybe I'm a realistic person, but I won't judge people by their look k~ Erhemmm....
To me, Queensbay Mall isn't that nice to shop. Most of the stores are selling branded products and I'm not rich enough to purchase those expensive products... (It is ok by telling you guys that "I'm poor" so directly?) I'm not cheeseparing like I'm not willing to purchase those branded produtcts, but sometimes while doing shopping, we must spend money based on our budget and what we really need. So if I know that I can't afford to buy those products, then I will not buy it.
OK! I'm away from my topuc...!!!! As my friend said, I should elaborate more in my essay. Erm... Maybe I've over elaborated.
We didn't start our shopping session once we reached there but we went for lunch first. As I said, got enough energy only can have better mood to shop. Haha!
We had our lunch at "Bak Kut Teh King" restaurant. The sign dish of this restaurant is "Bak Kut Teh" FOR SURE. The main ingredients of the dish is pork and herbal seasoner.
We all ordered one set of "Bak Kut Teh" for each person. In a set of it, including rice, tou geh, kuih for moisten in the soup and other side dishhed and hot tea. Whole set is about RM15. (Expensive or not? Erm... Ok lah. Once for a long time.)
You see my face, so happy eating pork. Hahaha!! I'm not the person who chose to eat the "Bak Kut Teh" but my coursemates. They missed pork a lot I think...
After ate the whole set of the meal, our stomaches are full. Recently I really have no appetite in having meal. While they decided to eat this, I really very worry whether I will grow fat easily or not after eating tat. I not sure whether I have to fasting how long time only can get back the original weight. (I know that is not healthy to fast that way. But don't worry. I'll be fine.)
Ok... Here is the photo while having "Bak Kut Teh" with some of my coursemates. (My other coursemates left us and seeked for other food.)
I joint those guys to shop in the Queensbay Mall. I kept on telling myself not to spend money on buying clothes, that's why I chose to join the guys to shop but not the girls. My girls' coursemates really like shopping, some of them are quite rich and dare to spend money on the things they like. So I worried that if I join them, I might spend a lot. After I joint those guys, I only know that they also like to buy clothes. Means the difference is small between shopping with girls or boys.
Before we left Queensbay mall, I went to the "Coffee Bean" coffee house. Coffee is one of my favourite things in my life, I always can't get good coffee in Alor Setar because those coffee houses just selling simple coffee but not that kind of fresh brew coffee. So once I have chance to go Penang or Kuala Lumpur, fresh brew coffee is a must drink beverage~!
Here is me with my Ice Blended Hazelnut.
After that we left Queensbay Mall to Esplanade, Penang. There is the place where held the Bon Odori Festival. The event starts at 6pm, but we reached there at around 4pm. Since the time was still early, so we had our take photo session at there.
This is my photo taken at the seaside.
This photo included our full members who joint this trip together. They are Yoyo, Jessi, Xin Yi, Lonny, Chan Sing, Sai Hoe, Ah Yien, Pui Yen, Li Woon, and few friends from other courses.
Before starting the event, Japanese drums performers were having rehearsal there. Although they're just having practice or rehearsal, but people already started to see and enjoy their performance. You can see it through the photo below.
Although I like drums very much, but the drums performance is still not enough to attract me. My attention all gave to those photographers who are using those professional cameras.
I like photography. But it's still not the right time for me to get a camera as what they're having now. I will be very envy to those people who can own a camera and capture everything in their life.
Although I can't own a "pro" camera, but I've borrowed a digital camera from my sister. Her digital camera is quite costy and it is a very good camera.
Look at this family, they're holding such colorful balloons. They looked blissfully and those balloons as decoration in the photo. Those balloons can get at the stalls beside, sold RM5 each.
The photo below is showing on the souvenirs which related to Japanese cultures. I diidn't buy any of them because the price is quite expensive. But I like this photo because it looks very colorful.
Besides selling souvenirs, they're also doing games for entertaining the visitors. There are 2 games available in Penang Bon Odori Festival. One of the game is gragging the gold fish by using the scoop net which is made from tissue paper. While another game is "fish" the balloons which filled with water.
You can see those workers were wearing their Japanese costume and guiding those visitors how to "drag" the gold fishes so that they won't break the rules while catching them.
This photo is showing about how the workers teach people to "fish" the balloons. I spent RM2 to "fish" the balloons. Haha!! Lastly I fished 3 balloons successfully. I like colorful stuff and it's good for me to experience how to play the game.
The event started with the speeches from Y.B. Tuan Law Heng Kiang, Tuan Hideaki Hoshi Cansul - General Of Japan, and Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister.
Arter that followed up with Drum Performance by PJS, Dance by Nippon-Minyokenkyukai Hamamatsu Branch, Soran-bushi Dance by Malaysian students.
They're Japanese aunties from Pink Hibuscus (maybe it is a name for their Japanese society) and they were doing Yokasai Dance.
Those Japanese girls and guys who were wearing the Japanese costume looked very nice and pretty. Their clothes are colorful and very attractive. If have chance, I which that I can have one set of that costume too and wear it to attend the festival. Must be very pretty after i wear it. Hahahahahaha!!!
They are my coursemates. Behind them can see other visitors who were wearing Japanese costume too. Not only Malaysians but also visitors from other countries joint this festival and enjoy the joyful festival. Exchanging and learning Japanese cultures too. There are many kinds of food stalls selling Japanese foods. So for people who like to eat, it's a good festival for them to seek for nice and special food.
Through this trip, I really learnt a lot including Japanese cultures, Japanese dance and drums and etc. Besides that, it's nice because I have chance to go out with my coursemates and create nice memories during my university life.
